The Johnstown Police Department is a 24/7 full service police agency. It is the mission of the Johnstown Police Department to serve and protect the residents and visitors of the City of Johnstown and provide a friendly, safe, and clean environment in which to live, work and play, with the partnership of the community.

The City of Johnstown Police Department consist of 35 full-time officers. The department’s structure is as follows:
Chief of Police, 2 Captains, 6 Patrol Sergeants, 4 Detectives, 1 Juvenile officer, 2 School Resource Officers (SRO), 4 Patrol K9 Teams, 10 Crisis Intervention Team (C.I.T.) officers.
The Department has several specialized vehicles: A Mobile Command Center, a unit outfitted with LPR (License Plate Reader) Technology, and a Prisoner Transport Unit.
The Officers of the Johnstown Police Department are men and women who are dedicated to serving the citizens of the City of Johnstown and contracted communities in a professional manner.
