Property owners in the City of Johnstown are required to pay real estate taxes on the real estate they own whether it is undeveloped (vacant) or improved. The City of Johnstown Real Estate tax bills are mailed annually on or around 1st day of April each calendar year. The due dates are as follows (due dates may vary to comply with city ordinance):

A business privilege and/or mercantile license are required for all business located within the City along with a corresponding tax. The tax rate is applied to gross volume after sales tax has been deducted. Some business may require both licenses/taxes. The breakdown is as follows:
